Fifty-one years of selling equipment the
right way.

No sales tricks, no fine print you need a lawyer to read. Just honest machines, honest prices, and a shop that stands behind both.

2,400+ Machines Sold

2 Generations

A & D Farm Equipment was started in 1974 by Hank Sterling, a diesel mechanic who got tired of watching his neighbors get burned by out-of-town auction houses. He started buying, fixing, and reselling equipment out of a single shop bay on the edge of town — and made a promise that every machine would leave his lot in better shape than when it arrived.

His son Dale runs the business today. The lot’s grown to eleven acres and the shop’s grown to six bays, but the promise Hank made in 1974 hasn’t changed: we don’t sell anything we wouldn’t run ourselves.

How We Got Here

1974

One Shop Bay

Hank Sterling starts fixing and reselling equipment on the edge of Lubbock.

1989

First Company Truck

A & D Farm Equipment buys its first flatbed and stops relying on outside haulers.

2003

Dale Takes Over

Second generation, same promise: nothing leaves that we wouldn’t run ourselves.

2026

Eleven Acres, Six Bays

Over 2,400 machines sold, and still a business you can call and get a straight answer from.

"A machine that can't pass our own shop's inspection doesn't go on the lot. Doesn't matter how good a deal it'd make."

What We Promise Every Buyer

1

A Real Inspection Report

Not a checklist somebody signed off on — an actual report you can read before you buy.

2

A Straight Answer On The Phone

Call and ask us anything about a machine. If we don’t know, we’ll find out and call you back.

3

No Surprise Fees At Closing

The number we quote you is the number on the paperwork. Every time.

Have more questions?

A small operation that doesn't move enough volume to hide behind a sales floor. Every buyer talks directly to the person who serviced the machine, and every deal gets done with a straight answer.
